ACLS Renewal Prerequisites

To successfully enroll in the ACLS Renewal course at Willow Grove CPR, you must be proficient in recognizing critical cardiac rhythms, including VF/VT, PEA/Asystole, bradycardia, and tachycardia. Additionally, one of the following criteria must be met: you must possess an unexpired ACLS Provider Card issued by the American Heart Association or have attended a certified ACLS training class within the last four years while being an active participant or supervisor in emergency response care.

    You need to be able to identify VF/VT, PEA/Asystole, bradycardia, and tachycardia.
  • What are the eligibility requirements?

    You must have an unexpired ACLS Provider Card or have completed a certified ACLS training class in the last four years while being an active participant or supervisor in emergency response care.

  • Can I take the course if my card is expired?

    If you are currently an active participant or supervisor in emergency response care.

  • What if I haven't taken a class in four years?

    You will need to attend a certified ACLS training class to be eligible for renewal.
  • Is there an online component or pre-course work?

    ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment


    The precourse self-assessment at our American Heart Association Training Site is not required for renewal students. You are not required to complete the precourse self-assessment.
